COLLABORATE
PARTNERSHIPS WITH PURPOSE
RÆBURN collaborates with partners across fashion, design, culture and industry to explore how responsible design can operate through products, systems and wider creative development.
Rather than approaching collaboration through a traditional agency model, the studio works as a design partner; bringing together material knowledge, technical development, creative direction and systems thinking through a process grounded in applied practice and long-term experimentation.
Since RÆBURN’s formation, this approach has led to projects spanning RÆMADE collections, material innovation, product systems, exhibitions, retail concepts, installation design and strategic creative consultancy. Each collaboration begins differently, but the intention remains consistent: to bring value and develop work that balances functionality, cultural relevance and responsible thinking through clear, considered design.
Importantly, the studio’s role is rarely limited to aesthetics alone. Much of the work involves understanding existing systems, identifying opportunities within material or production constraints and developing practical solutions that can operate both creatively and commercially over time.
The studio’s capabilities span multiple disciplines and stages of development, allowing projects to move fluidly between concept, research, prototyping, production and final designs.
LAYER × RÆBURN
HOW WE WORK
IDEAS INTO ACTION
The studio regularly works across multiple scales and contexts; from limited edition products and experimental prototypes through to larger collaborative systems and industry-facing initiatives.
Depending on the nature of the project, this may involve independent development, embedded collaboration or ongoing creative consultancy.
Alongside technical expertise, an important part of the studio’s value lies in its understanding of material sourcing and remanufacturing at a practical level. Working with surplus and reclaimed materials often requires extensive research, global sourcing networks and what can best be described as material archaeology; identifying overlooked resources and understanding how they can be adapted for contemporary use.
This process informs not only the visual outcome of a project, but also its construction, functionality and long-term viability. Existing seams, fabric limitations, technical specifications and signs of previous use frequently become active elements within the design process itself.
Over the years, RÆBURN has collaborated with organisations and brands including Timberland, Moncler, Victorinox, The North Face, PUMA, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Puma and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, alongside independent projects developed directly through the studio.
These collaborations are approached as opportunities to test ideas, challenge existing systems and explore how responsible design methodologies can operate across different industries and applications.
As the studio continues to evolve, collaboration remains central to the practice—creating space for ongoing experimentation, shared learning and future development across materials, systems and design.
WHAT WE CAN DO
CAPABILITIES
Approaching two decades of experimentation, collaboration and Responsible Design, RÆBURN brings together creative thinking, material intelligence and hands-on experience to help partners turn ambitious ideas into meaningful outcomes.
Our capabilities span the complete creative journey — from creative direction, RÆMADE development and material innovation to product design, systems thinking and education — allowing us to connect ideas that might otherwise sit apart.
Whether we're developing a single product, rethinking an existing material or helping shape a wider creative strategy, we bring the same approach: question convention, experiment with purpose and find new possibilities through collaboration.
-

Creative Direction & Design
Concept development, collection direction, visual language, narrative development and systems-led creative thinking informed by utility, functionality and material provenance.
