TEN YEARS OF LEARNING
MENS + WOMENSWEAR
TEN
TEN brought together a decade of RÆBURN learning: materials discovered, products developed, experiments tested and ideas refined through making.
Rather than creating a retrospective, we returned to some of the principles and archetypes that had shaped the studio and asked a more interesting question: what could we do with everything we had learned so far?
After a decade of experimentation, RÆMADE, RÆDUCED and RÆCYCLED came together more completely than ever before. Materials, processes and ideas developed across previous collections were revisited, challenged and pushed forward as an interconnected approach to designing and making, where learning from the past could become a catalyst for something new.

TEN YEARS OF LEARNING
Original Typhoon suits were deconstructed and RÆMADE into a parka and matching trousers. German safety jackets became new interpretations of the RAFT Parka and Nomex Bomber, while recycled wool transit blankets were transformed into reversible outerwear. Air Brake parachutes returned in cleaner, more contemporary silhouettes, allowing familiar materials and ideas to evolve rather than simply be repeated.
The same thinking extended into new experiments. Offcuts accumulated through making at the RÆBURN Lab were shredded and transformed into insulation for an extraordinary transparent puffer made from deadstock parachute nylon; a process we named Off-Cut Insulation. Waste from one process became the raw material for another, creating a physical demonstration of how increasingly circular systems might work.
Crucially, RÆMADE experimentation also informed the wider collection. Key ideas developed through one-of-one pieces were translated into RÆCYCLED versions using materials including recycled PET, demonstrating how an experiment at studio scale could provide the blueprint for products capable of reaching further. Knitwear explored recycled yarns and studio scraps, while RÆDUCED jersey reconsidered everything from material choice to the amount of labelling used.
EVERYTHING CONNECTS
TEN demonstrated how the different strands of RÆBURN could operate as one interconnected system. Archive, material research, RÆMADE craft, product development, waste reduction and collaboration informed one another, allowing knowledge accumulated through one project to become the starting point for another.
The ongoing Timberland × RÆBURN partnership provided a powerful example of that thinking at greater scale. The AW19 collaboration brought together menswear, womenswear, accessories and footwear, reinterpreting established Timberland products through the RÆBURN approach. The iconic Weatherbreaker Jacket was reconstructed using RÆMADE materials, while ideas developed for the catwalk were translated into versions using recycled PET, including Timberland's ReBOTL material, and organic cotton. RÆMADE experimentation could therefore become the catalyst for products designed to reach a much wider audience.
TEN celebrated how far RÆBURN had travelled, but its purpose was never to stand still and look backwards. A decade of experimentation had created something far more useful than an archive of past achievements: it had created knowledge.
The opportunity was to take that knowledge, challenge it again and use it as the foundation for whatever came next.
Everything learned. Everything still to explore.
