DEPLOY
FUNCTION IN MOTION
DEPLOY represented a significant evolution of the RÆBURN menswear language, bringing together many of the ideas already central to the brand; RÆMADE, parachute construction, British manufacturing and purposeful functionality within an increasingly complete and confident collection.
DEPLOY also marked the first time RÆBURN menswear was presented through a dedicated catwalk show. It was a significant moment for the growing brand, allowing the movement, functionality and energy within the clothes to be experienced in an entirely new context.
The starting point remained function. Original military sleeping bags were reappropriated into lightweight Mesh Smocks and Bombers, contrasting open mesh with waxed materials, while the Pop-Out Mac combined a seam-sealed water-resistant shell with a detachable quilted inner. Elsewhere, deadstock technical fabrics, high-density cotton and recycled PrimaLoft extended the exploration of responsible materials into a broader wardrobe.
At the heart of DEPLOY was the continued development of parachute garments. Returning to an idea established at RÆBURN’s earliest London Fashion Week presentations, patterns were cut directly from original parachutes to create parkas, macs, suit jackets and windcheaters. Limited-edition authentic parachute pieces sat alongside versions translated into recycled performance fabrics; an early demonstration of how experimentation with an existing material could generate ideas capable of moving into wider production.
The collection also showed the RÆBURN world broadening. Shirting appeared for the first time, while an increasingly sophisticated accessories offer explored bags that folded, detached and transformed according to use. Function was not treated as a technical addition; it actively shaped the design.
A WIDER CREATIVE WORLD
DEPLOY also extended beyond the garments themselves. The season’s recurring owl became an unexpected character within the collection, appearing across graphics, accessories and an accompanying film that pushed the presentation into a more playful and experimental territory.
This willingness to move between product, image, character, catwalk and film was becoming an important part of the RÆBURN creative process allowing each touchpoint to provide another opportunity to experiment, communicate and learn. Seen retrospectively, DEPLOY captures RÆBURN at an important point of expansion: the experimental principles of the early studio developing into a more complete system of product, function, responsible materials and storytelling without losing their radical edge.
WOMENSWEAR
FLIGHT
FLIGHT was the womenswear counterpart to DEPLOY. Exploratory in both design and appearance, it developed an evolving RÆBURN narrative for clothing that was practical and feminine in equal measure.
The collection referenced the style and pursuits of the first female aviators, and was developed through extensive research into fabrics old and new. The ready-to-wear offer also broadened, with light summer staples joining the signature outerwear.
