COLLABORATION

UTILITY MEETS OPTIMISM

What happens when two distinctive creative perspectives come together to challenge the conventions of contemporary womenswear?

SNAP. PACK. DEPLOY. is a new &Co.LLABORATION between MAX&Co. and RÆBURN, combining MAX&Co.'s playful approach to contemporary fashion with RÆBURN's expertise in functional design, technical materials and creative experimentation.

Built around adaptability and movement, the collection reinterprets familiar wardrobe pieces through parachute-inspired volumes, military references, innovative construction and unexpected colour. The result is an expressive wardrobe balancing practicality with personality.

TWO CREATIVE WORLDS

The collaboration begins with a shared curiosity and a willingness to challenge convention. For MAX&Co., it presents an opportunity to reimagine established wardrobe icons. For RÆBURN, it provides a platform to translate the studio's utilitarian design language into contemporary womenswear, connecting technical functionality with colour, femininity and self-expression.

The partnership also carries personal significance for Christopher Ræburn. Twenty years after graduating from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Womenswear in 2006, the collaboration reconnects his original training with almost two decades of experience developing RÆBURN and leading international creative partnerships.

Drawing strength from their differences, the two brands combine military-inspired detailing, technical fabrics and expressive proportions. A palette of khaki, stone and black is punctuated by vibrant orange and hot pink, establishing a distinctive creative language rooted in both identities.

SNAP. PACK. DEPLOY.

The collection's title captures three interconnected ideas. SNAP reflects energy and functional fastenings; PACK celebrates portability and versatility; while DEPLOY expresses readiness for action. Together, they establish a wardrobe designed to respond to changing environments and everyday life.

Outerwear forms the foundation, with drawstring-waist jackets, anoraks and long coats developed in water-repellent ripstop with functional grosgrain detailing. Lightweight padded constructions offer comfort and protection, while a digital-spot camouflage jacquard appears across outerwear and generously proportioned trousers inspired by the RÆBURN archive.

The collaboration also revisits the MAX&Co. Longrun coat through two interpretations of its signature belted silhouette: an oversized bonded wool-blend version and a lightweight padded ripstop alternative. Knitwear, technical trousers and jersey extend the collection's balance of comfort and utility, while bags, footwear and accessories complete the wardrobe. A playful squirrel mascot adds a further expression of the partnership's shared optimism.

DESIGNED FOR ADAPTABILITY

At the heart of SNAP. PACK. DEPLOY. is a belief that functional design can be expressive, optimistic and enjoyable. Technical materials, adaptable construction and practical detailing inform not only the collection's visual identity but also how individual pieces are worn and experienced.

For RÆBURN, the project demonstrates how the studio's expertise in utility, material research and product development can translate into a different creative context. Working alongside MAX&Co., these capabilities contribute to a collection that balances technical thinking with contemporary femininity.

COLLECTION GALLERY

Every piece, in every colourway. Available exclusively in MAX&Co. stores and online at maxandco.com

“MAX&Co. has a real sense of courage and optimism, which felt incredibly aligned with how we approach design at RÆBURN. For me, this collaboration was about merging utility with emotion – taking the functional codes we’re known for and injecting them with a sense of play, colour and character.

SNAP. PACK. DEPLOY. is rooted in adaptability: garments that move with you, evolve with you, and are built to last. We wanted each piece to feel purposeful but never precious, technically robust yet expressive. Creativity, Community and above all Collaboration are central to everything we do, and working with MAX&Co. allowed us to explore those ideas in a bold, joyful collection that’s full of personality”.
