Download a pattern, look at the materials you already have around you and start experimenting. Old clothes, fabric offcuts, unwanted textiles or something completely unexpected can all become the starting point.
There's no need to make it perfect, adapt the pattern, mix materials, change the scale and make it your own. The important thing is to get hands-on and reconsider the value and possibilities in what already exists.
