Stunning!

The dapple parka exceeded my expectations, it's been my go-to coat ever since it arrived. The fabric print is just as expected, but the soft feel & drape of the fabric was a really nice surprise. The snaps at the pockets are very durable & secure, and the pocket sizes are roomy. I would've fit into a Small, but I ordered a Medium for an oversized look. It is perfect & I've gotten many compliments on it as well.

Another Work of Art!

Having seen this jacket in some preview shots towards the end of last year I was disappointed when I thought it hadn’t been put into production. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case – RAEBURN were just keeping the best for last! Obviously the longline is more suited to the taller customer and this parka makes a stunning partner garment to the previously released puffa version. While camo has become commonplace across many brands, the Dapple Camo used on this jacket, dating from 1950s Yugoslavia, is something quite different and a definite statement. Early camouflage was created by painters, such as André Mare, and this pattern is highly artistic, with almost an Impressionist-era colour palette. Designed originally as a mountain pattern style, the sense of it being a landscape picture is perhaps unsurprising. It is literally a work of art and quite beautiful to view from a distance. Close up it is possible to determine the thousands of spots that also form part of the pattern which stems from an early Soviet-era “Amoeba” camouflage design. The print is a faithful reproduction of the original camo (if you get the chance to visit the Marshall St store you may be lucky enough to see the original smock) and the jacket itself is warm (although not as heavily insulated as the Puffa version), with a soft handle to the fabric that you might not expect on first viewing and the usual excellent attention to detail all over – ribbed cuffs, waist adjusters, internal shoulder straps, plenty of pockets and double Lampo zip main closure. And all produced sustainably. This is an awful lot of coat for the price and hard to think of any other outerwear pieces that marry such design beauty, production quality and value for money. Another must-have.
