Christopher RÆBURN is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Reporting to and working closely with the Operations Director and from time to time our external accountancy firm. You will help prepare financial statements for review by the Directors and company Accountants, ensuring legal compliance requirements. You will process the accounts payables and receivables as well as ensuring petty cash and expense claims are processed in an organised and timely manner.


  • Handling supplier invoices, stamping and coding and annotating each for allocation prior to processing to Xero
  • Recording day to day financial transactions and completing the posting process and maintaining company ledgers
  • Verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Filing (hard copy and/or digitally) purchase invoices according to company process
  • Maintaining the Bookkeeping email mailbox following strict company process
  • Maintain accurate petty cash and expense records, ensuring appropriate records are kept and filed (hard copy and/or digitally)
  • Reconciling the companies bank accounts within Xero and ensuring they are up to date and that any reconciliation queries are raised and dealt with in a timely manner
  • Preparing weekly Cash flow forecast reports for the Directors
  • Preparing weekly Aged Debtors (Receivables) and Creditor (Payables) reports for the Directors
  • Preparing monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports for the Directors
  • Communicate with our Accountants Payroll Bureau where required and in order to manage monthly payroll routines
  • Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by the Directors


  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or relevant financial qualifications such as AAT
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Proficient in Xero Accounts and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
  • Data entry skills along with a knack of numbers
  • Must be thorough, highly organised with the ability to multi-task and possess good time management skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

1 day a week

09:00 – 18:00 with 1 hour lunch (unpaid)
